How much do you love pasta?

Do you know anyone that doesn’t love pasta…in any of its versatile forms?

Gluten free, vegan, whole wheat, good old white flour, and Semolina flour, which is the traditional flour used to make pasta, and is what we used in this recipe.

It’s silky and light and not as chewy as other flours.

Fresh pasta is really fast and easy to make, and it only takes minutes to cook.

In the time it takes to cook dried pasta, you can make fresh pasta.

You can roll it and cut it into any style and shape you wish…spaghetti, fettuccini, linguini, ravioli….

You just need the right tools. You can purchase hand cranked pasta rollers, or find attachments for your stand mixers, which makes short work of it.

Pasta is a very affordable staple for the base of so many entrees. Recipes including pasta are endless.

The difference in fresh pasta versus dried pasta is obvious and tastes so much better. Once you start making it, you won’t stop!

You can pre-make as much as you need and dry the rest for another time. It will still be better than what you purchase from the store.

So, plan that romantic date, or throw that big dinner party, because when you tell people that you make your own pasta, they will think you’re a master chef!

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine the flour and salt. Add water and stir to make a firm dough.
  2. Shape the dough into a ball and turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 10 minutes by hand, or let the dough hook of your stand mixer do the work.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 15 minutes.
  4. Roll out dough using rolling pin or pasta machine. Work with a 1/4 of the dough at one time. Keep the remaining dough covered, to prevent from drying out. Roll out by hand to 1/16 of an inch thick. If using a machine, stop at the third to last thickness setting.
  5. Cut pasta into desired shapes and dust with flour to prevent sticking. Cook fresh noodles in salted boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain and serve with your favorite sauce.
